Montauk Nameless

Bio:

The thing known as Montauk Nameless is a member of the VanHelseus Society. Found during a mission in a swamp, the creature apparently decided to follow the away team and join the organization. For what exactly is Montauk Nameless is somewhat of a debate even amongst the VanHelseus Society. The scientists at the organization classify it as a "Sludge Wraith". It was classified as such due to the fact that the swamp it was found at apparently has had some bad history, and its body can be best described as a garbage bag filled with sludge. However considering what actual wraiths are, this name is abit of a misnomer.

The creature indeed did come from a place where negative energy would be most proficient, however it doesn't display the normal traits a regular wraith would show. In fact, the creature displays a degree of intelligence that it being simply an incarnation of forgotten feelings is very unlikely. It being made from sludge is also a misnomer. While the contents of its body do seem to have the same viscosity as sludge, it appears to be something completely different.

From what samples the creature gave to the researchers at VanHelseus Society, the ooze that makes it up seems to be a combination of fat, muscle, and vegetation. Sludge in a sense yes, but not like the type one would find in a sewer or a swamp. It's seems more like the stuff one would find dissecting a Portuguese Man o' War. While what exactly the stuff is uncertain, it being a complex compound however further proves that the creature, Montauk Nameless, is not a wraith. There is no record of a wraith being composed of such complex elements.

Whatever Montauk Nameless is, it seems that even it doesn't know what it. It appears to have no memory further than when the team that first discovered it. The only other thing it apparently knows is its name, Montauk Nameless, which most assume is only half complete. Despite the misnomer and the various related questions, everyone apparently just agrees to call it a "Sludge Wraith" for simplicity's sake.

Abilitywise, the creature adds more to its mystery. Though it is rather large, it is able to squeeze through the tightest of spaces. At its most extreme, it is capable of squeezing into a water faucet and coming out another. Though the creature appears to be incapable of regular human speech and facial expressions, it communicates in another way.

While it seems that it can only make grunts and other indistinguishable sounds, people apparently agree that they are able to understand what the creature is actually saying despite not understanding the sounds it makes. According to the scientists, the creature is apparently actually using a form of telepathy when it "talks". When it makes a sound, it sends out a "thought wave" to every being that surrounds it. When this thought wave is picked up, it is processed as if it were understandable verbal speech. In other words, when the creatures talks, people understand it not by the sounds it makes but by the thoughts behind the sounds.

In terms of expression, the creature also has a unique way of doing. Though it cannot move the "mask" that makes its "face", the lights behind it serve the same purpose. Somewhat like a moodring, the color of the lights denotes the creature's feelings. For example, when the lights are green that usually means the creature is happy or friendly. When the lights are red that usually means the creature is angry. These and other colors make up the "expressions" of Montauk Nameless.

In terms of personality, Montauk Nameless most of the time appears to be a friendly creature despite its ambiguity. It is in particular fond of little children. This fondness for little children however seems to be somewhat of an extreme. When the creature hears or sees a child in danger, it would drop whatever it is doing in order to help the child. Its reactions to such a stimuli ranges from the hilarious, such as it dropping a piano it was helping move up some stairs, to the violent, such as it bludgeoning a jerk to a bloody mess for stealing a baby's lollipop.
